Michal Kate's Sad Birthday

Though the weekend went off well and Michal Kate had a great party she was not well on her actual birthday. On Monday last week I was called by the school to please come get her she was running 102.8 fever. We weren't shocked being that Richard was already ill. I took her and Jack, just in case, to the doctor on Tuesday morning and low and behold Type A flu. He sent me with a prescription for an older flu med...he said that Tamaflu isn't working on this strand, and instructions that she couldn't be around anyone until she was fever free for 48 hours. She came home and slept forever on Tuesday. Wednesday, her birthday, she woke up with fever but it quickly went away with Motrin and Tylenol alternating through the day. When she woke up from her nap however we had a harder time breaking her fever, thus the very heavy eyes after dinner Wednesday night during her birthday celebration.

The rest of the week wasn't without craziness...Wednesday morning Jack threw up once, Thursday night, though Michal Kate was all better, Noah began throwing up for 4 hours, then Friday at noon I had a headache that flattened me. I went and got Richard who was finally better and then I was in bed for two days with this horrible migrain on top of a little stomach bug for about 3 hours Friday night. Then on Saturday as I was finally feeling better that late evening Richard got the bug. All in all not a week I wish to ever repeat. Though we had a lot of family time, and rest time, it was crazy and there were times I was in tears for my mommy who was home not feeling well either. I am sorry to complain, just letting you in. I am so appreciative of all of our health this week, probably more than normal and aware of how God takes care of us even when it doesn't feel like it.
Have a great week!

Michal Kate

I am just taken back today. I can't believe that Michal Kate is 5! I can still remember every detail from finding out we were expecting her, being told that she was a healthy baby girl, and the day of her birth. A very long day by the way! I am near tears as I look on at these pictures. I tried to get pictures this year from either her birthday parties from the past or the actual day of her birthday. So I hope you enjoy.
Michal Kate, you continually amaze your daddy and I, along with everyone you meet. Your zest and DRAMA for life, your life, your smile, the way you love other people and other things so enthusiastically is truly a gift from our Father. You are our oldest but you will forever be our baby girl. Though over the last couple of days you keep reminding me that you aren't a baby you are 5 (with a strong east Texas accent). We love how easily you meet and love people and you don't know a stranger. You are beautiful inside and out! We love you so much and wish you the happiest of birthdays, sorry this silly flu bug had to find you this week of all weeks!

Michal Kate just hours after birth

Michal Kate's first birthday, mommy was on bed rest and very pregnant with Noah. You had an Elmo themed party. On your first birthday you took your first step!

Your second birthday! Your party was about a week before and was a JoJo's Circus party. This was the chocolate cake you get almost every year on your actual birthday.
Your third birthday a Lion King party!
Your fourth birthday on the day with your chocolate cake. Your party was at Pump it Up Jr and was a Princess party.

Your 5th birthday party was a tea party. We love you! Happy birthday baby girl!

Valentine's Day

With Michal Kate's party today we kinda lost focus of Valentine's. But...here are some pictures of the kids getting their presents from daddy and me and of Michal Kate's Valentine's Party at school.
Believe it or not, I actually got this shot of all three looking at the camera and smiling the very first picture I took. I was very excited.
To busy loving their Webkinz and trying to get into the candy to look up at the camera, but hey, at least they are smiling.
Her school party! Michal Kate, Eric, and Baeleigh.
Michal Kate eating and drinking her snack.
Madi and Michal Kate.

Tea Party

All in all I would say Michal Kate's birthday party was a hit! She had several of her friends attend from all her different activities; school, church, dance, and family. All the girls and boys looked so good all dressed up, it was cute to watch. I was a bit unsure of how to throw a tea party, but I would say the kids all had a great time. My parents, Gram and Papa, and my sister and her family were able to come up for the day which was great. We hadn't seen them since Christmas.
This first picture is a floral arrangement that our dear friends Randy and Sandra sent her for her birthday. They sent it early, per mommy's request, so I could use it as decoration at the party.

The next few pictures are of the different tables. I decorated each table with a tea set of Michal Kate's. Before this party she had two. After mommy was done getting decorations for the party she had 6, after opening the presents from her friends she had 8. Needless to say, I think Michal Kate is going to collect tea sets!

This was Michal Kate's table with, Carlee, Madi, Anna Kate, Brook, Elise, and Ally.

Eric, Aubrey, Hayden, Madelynn, Tatum, and Isaac.
Noah, Connor, Cambri (and Adria), Maya, Emma Kate, Max, and the empty chair was Carson.
Baeleigh, Lauren, Kyla, Mackenzie, Maya, and Grace.

Jack trying to help.
Double trouble, cousins and best friends, Connor and Noah.
Doing their craft.
The whole group, I think! Gracie is off with her mommy.
It was a lot of fun and they seemed to really enjoy it! Thanks to all who came, gave ideas, and helped. If you were there and took pictures, I would love copies!

Daddy/Daughter Dance

So last night was Pewitt's 1 st annual Father/Daughter dance in the school gym. Though Richard was and is pretty sick, he toughed it out and took Michal Kate. We lucked out in the hand me down department...this is the dress my niece Allyson wore in our wedding!!! Michal Kate loved getting all dressed up, getting to wear her jewelry, and even let me curl her hair! Here are some pictures that I took before they left the house.

Jack's Crazy Hair

Okay I know this is old, but I just had to share these pictures. Jack woke up from his nap one afternoon and all I could do is laugh at the sight of his hair. Yes, we have had a hair cut now!
