These are a couple of pictures of Jack Gordon at one week. I was having fun during the older kids nap time with my new baby and my camera. I thought he posed pretty well for one week. He is doing well. We had our one week check up yesterday and he is gaining weight and growing quickly! I took this one on Saturday but I thought I would post it anyway. I thought getting a picture of the two kids together was hard...it is nothing like getting one of the three of them together. Love to all, More later!
Jack is here! I went into labor around lunch on Monday. I wasn't really sure that it was labor but we came to the hospital after talking to my doctor and sure enough I was contracting 2-3 minutes apart. Through the evening I ending slowing down so my doctor let me eat something and gave me a sleeping pill and then started pitosin this morning around 7. I had to go a few hours with out pain meds to help me move along. I got my epidoral around 12 noon and then I had Jack after only pushing for 7 minutes at 1:31 p.m. He weighs 7 lbs 12 oz and 20 1/4 inches long. He is completely healthy and breathing well which is such an answer to prayer. So far he is a great baby, he is eating well and sleeping. Though he is quite the little pooper, he is keeping daddy and me busy already. We are so thankful to God for our precious blessing!
Daddy and Jack just minutes after birth. Mommy and Jack the first time mommy got to hold him. What you don't see is Noah is climbing all over my legs. Noah was so sweet with his brother. He just laid like this or by my side to love on him. Michal Kate climbed up in my lap and wanted to hold him. Her words were "Jack wants to hold me" so we helped her. As you can see she is one proud big sister. And our Gram. Mom got to be there for the whole thing. This is Grams first time to hold Jack and it was just as she was about to take the other two back to our house. My mom is such a blessing all the time, but she is a life saver right now. I don't know what we would do without her. We love you all and look forward to you all meeting Jack and getting to see more pictures.
This Sunday was our baby dedication at church. This was such a blessing and as a parent a public idea of something we have already done. We love that our church family is standing behind us and praying for us as we raise our children and then praying for our children as we raise them. Sorry the pictures are a little dark they had a slide show going on during it so it was hard to see!
This last Thursday we were able to meet some of our dear friends Randy and Sandra, and Randy's parents in Tyler for dinner. They were on their way to their annual 2 week vacation in Florida, and it was close enough for all to make the short trip and delay their trip for a couple of hours. We met them at the Cracker Barrel. Michal Kate and Noah just lit up when they saw Randy and Sandra, a month is a long time in kid time, not to mention ours too. The kids were fascinated that there were toys in the restaurant and didn't want to sit down to eat. We ate our dinner and then went outside on the Cracker Barrel porch where they played checkers and rocked in the rocking chairs. Michal Kate wasn't sure why I wanted a picture of her in the chair so you get the crazy face. But then as you can see she loved playing checkers with her best friend in the world, "Aunt Sandra". Sandra had just stopped Noah from destroying the flowers out front so I snapped a quick photo. We are so blessed to have such great friends like these. We are looking forward to later in July when they come to see us and meet Jack.
Just a glimps of me in at 36 weeks. No more than 4 weeks left. Well now that I am writing this a week later, no more than 3 weeks left. They are probably going to induce in 2 or 2 1/2 though, so who knows. I can't wait to meet Jack Gordon! Michal Kate loves to pose with me in my monthly pictures. She also loves to kiss Jack. Let's just see if she continues to enjoy him once he is here. I will keep you posted.
Last week while Richard's mom was here, she took my idea for Michal Kate's room and made it happen. Richard and I had picked the colors and such and Gramma came in a painted it! She did such a good job and Richard and I love it, but especially Michal Kate. She still walks in and talks about how beautiful her room is. Because the colors don't show perfectly, the top is an orange color from her bed spread and the bottom is a yellow from the bed spread. Then we scanned the hot pink from the bed spread and did a stencil all the way around the room at a chair rail height where the two colors meet! I am so excited. It is perfect for Michal Kate!
